See You: Faces of the Black Man of Happiness is a four-part creative/artistic public awareness campaign of Peter J. Harris’ Black Man of Happiness Project:
Social Media Campaign on Instagram @seeyou247: anchored by ‘framed’ historical Legacy photos of Black men and boys ‘emanating a sense of joy,’ our brilliant tagline coined by Research Librarian Helen Cate.
Publication, See You Emanating a Sense of Joy, a Proof of Concept for a fine art coffee table book, featuring 1—an Introduction by Peter J. Harris; 2—Legacy—featuring historical photos; 3—Living Masters—featuring photos by contemporary photographers; and 4—Me & Daddy—an intimate portfolio of photos of Harris’ father, intertwined with 3 poems written by Harris.
Community Engagement:
Art exhibition pairing historical Legacy photos with photos from Living Masters to create an exhibition that will travel digitally and to select museums and galleries.
Photo Mural pairing enlarged historical Legacy photos with enlarged photos from Living Masters for display on exterior walls, banners and billboards.
